Please sponsor Terry Stewart
to walk 104 miles to raise money for Europeans
for Medical Progress
Terry Stewart from Scarborough in North Yorkshire
is doing a sponsored 104 mile walk to raise much
needed funds for Europeans for Medical Progress
and other groups opposed to animal experimentation.
If you would be kind enough to sponsor Terry
on our behalf, we will receive every penny you
contribute.
Terry starts his walk in Scarborough on the
24th March 2005 and ends at Chesterfield on 27th
March. Although Terry is fit, he suffers from
a rare genetic condition that, without annual
screening and treatment, would kill him. As a
result of this genetic fault, his large colon
has been removed due to the cancerous polyps
that grow there. The side effect of the operation
has left him with the ability to dehydrate more
quickly than a normal person, so he has to drink
more frequently - this will, of course, apply
to the walk. However, Terry stresses he will
be fine to complete the 104 mile walk as long
as he has plenty of water along the way. Terry
will be sleeping in a tent, saving on the
cost of a bed and breakfast!
When Terry arrives at Chesterfield, he will
be greeted by Peak FM Radio who will be interviewing
spokespersons from the organisations involved
including Europeans for
Medical Progress. BBC
Radio York has agreed to advertise the event
and the local press will be present to take photos
and hold interviews.
The rest is down to you. Will you sponsor Terry?

it’s for Terry’s walk so we can keep
a record of the total amount raised.
Thankyou
[Update]
CONGRATULATIONS to Terry Stewart for successfully
completing his 104 mile sponsored walk on schedule
on Easter Sunday. The four-day walk was a monumental
undertaking for Terry, with his health problems
caused by his very rare genetic condition. We
are so grateful to Terry and to our generous
supporters for raising a fantastic total of almost £1,200
for Europeans for Medical Progress.
Thankyou Terry and thanks to all of you
who supported him.
